Whirling
The growing use of medical bone screws, implants and other micro-components creates a need for techniques that produce special thread forms quickly and at high tolerances. Thread whirling neutralizes many of the issues encountered with single-point threading. The process is used primarily by medical manufacturers to produce bone screws with deep threads on Swiss turning centers.
